Our Students

Students Selection

Students selected to enter our program must have:

  • Very strong academic performance (≥90% average) over the last three years of primary school
  • Excellent conduct and a discernible drive to excel in life and perform well at a top secondary school
  • Recently completed Nicaraguan primary school, being no older than 13 years of age
  • Supportive yet impoverished parents (or guardians) that do not have the necessary financial resources to afford a quality education

Remaining in the program

To continue receiving the scholarship, students must:

  • Maintain a high academic performance (≤85% in the first year, ≤90% thereafter), in compliance with the terms of reference agreed between Mentores Solidarios and the schools
  • Not miss classes except for special occasions
  • Attend events that are organized by Mentores Solidarios, especially tutoring classes for all underperforming students
